Sibling Class

I signed Madison up for a sibling prep tour at the hospital. She was alittle nervous to go, but once we got in there she thought it was soo neat. She kept saying "This is SO cool!" First the instructor came and talked to each of the kids asked their names, ages, if they knew if the baby was a boy or a girl if the baby had a name yet..etc..etc. Then they got to watch a short little video explaining about babies.. eating,sleeping,crying..etc. Then they got to hold dolls and practice how to hold a baby.. supporting its head..etc. Then they went over why babies cry..and explained to them that mom & dad have to spend lots of time with the baby, but they still love you too! Then we got to tour the maternity floor and go into an actual room so they could see how much it looks like a "hotel" (Yeah right! :) ) The instructor told us that probably almost a year ago they were able to take a real baby and show the kids but because of the flu they aren't allowed to do that anymore.. but she told us this week they had just lifted the ban that kids can go on that floor because of the flu they couldn't! I didn't know that, that would have been horrible if she couldn't come see me! Then they got to make a project and got stickers that say "I'm a big sister" to wear when the babys born. For months now she wants me to explain whats going to happen when the baby comes! Course to her it feels like a vacation! She gets to go sleep at Grammys and Dad is going to take her for Ice cream! She can't wait.. every week asks me can the baby come this Saturday?! Why on a Saturday? I don't know! :)
